If you are just jumping into FBC: Firebreak, you will notice that things can get overwhelming pretty easily as the game leaves multiple questions for you to figure out on your own.
In order to make your experience, especially the initial phase of it, more enjoyable, I have listed all the things that I wish I knew before starting the game without going through all the trial and error.

These FPS games offer the most realistic sniping experiences, from bullet drop and wind to tactical positioning and precision marksmanship.
Obviously, you are welcome to deviate and try out everything on your own as well for some first-hand experience and decide which things work best for you. But if you can go into the game with a leg up already, why not give yourself the advantage?
Become the Hiss’ worst nightmare and put these things into action from the start.
1
The Magnum Is Your Best Friend
Alan Wake’s Signature Weapon
FBC: Firebreak gives you three starting weapons—a double-barrel shotgun, an SMG, and a Magnum. After using all three in multiple missions, myself and everyone I’ve played with all came to the same conclusion that Magnum is the best one out of the three.
The shotgun offers devastating damage but requires a reload after every two shots and falls very short against flying enemies. The SMG, on the other hand, does very little damage.
The Magnum is the only weapon that offers a near-perfect balance. It is a powerhouse in damage as it can end most common enemies in one or two hits, and it has no problem destroying enemies from a long distance as well.
It is also the only weapon whose Rank 2 upgrade is extremely easy to unlock, so I would prefer the Magnum over all other weapons any day of the week.

Splash Kit Is Beginner-Friendly
Give Your Friends A Shower
It’s no secret that your character will be caught on fire often as you are still learning the basics of this game, especially in the first mission.
For this situation, I would always recommend that you or someone on your team equip the Splash Kit. Not only does it allow you to put out a fire almost instantly, but its ultimate ability is also very useful.
On top of that, the Splash Kit is a godsend for the sticky note mission, as destroying those pesky sticky notes and the sticky note monsters is much easier once you have them wet.
Once you have got the basics down for FBC: Firebreak, then be sure to try out other kits as well, as each offers its own advantages.
3
Locate The Black Rock Neutralizer
Those Pesky Anomalies Aren’t Going To Destroy Themselves
If you start a mission with corruption, you will soon realize that not only are these anomalies making your life so much harder, but you can’t do any damage to them with your standard weapons.
For these anomalies, a special weapon—the Black Rock Neutralizer—is required. Most of the time, they are very easy to find, but on rare occasions, their spawn rate makes you want to restart the mission.
Regardless of the spawn rate, the weapon always shows up in either the Shelters or right beside the Ammo stations, so be sure to explore the level for all ammo stations and unlock all shelters that you can find.
The Black Rock Neutralizer is also a powerhouse in damage, as it can even melt through the armored enemies with ease. It does have low ammo, and you cannot restock it, so be sure to only use it against common enemies once you have eliminated all anomalies.
4
Charge The Ammo Stations
Let There Be Light
As you explore the levels in FBC: Firebreak, you will come across ammo stations with their lights off. Instead of wasting extra time trying to pick up the ammo in the dark, I recommend taking a few extra seconds and charging the Ammo Station first by fixing its generator.
This allows you to grab ammo much quicker, which is very useful if you are being chased by a Hiss horde. The game actually punishes you by going into a station with a horde behind you, as the Hiss can trap you and easily overwhelm you with their numbers.

Don’t get greedy; if you are being chased by a horde, go to an already charged station, grab some ammo quickly, and get out.
5
Equip The Pin Collector Perks
While grenades do not do as much damage as you expect them to in FBC: Firebreak, they are still a necessary piece of equipment for crowd control.
I personally always use a grenade whenever I need to reload and there is an army of Hiss running towards me. The grenade immobilizes the horde and gives me enough extra time I need to finish my reload without having a ton of Hiss in my face.
If you time it properly, then you can also kill a wave of Hiss instantly by using two grenades, making the Pin Collector perk a must-have, in my opinion.
6
Collect Lost Assets In Missions
Mandatory For Upgrades
Lost Assets are the main currency in FBC: Firebreak, and you need them to unlock items and perks from both Requisitions and Research.
But do not rely on Lost Assets solely rewarded by completing the mission; rather, collect all the Lost Asset folders that you can find.
These folders are usually found in Shelters throughout the mission map, and these folders are also dropped after defeating a strong enemy, which usually spawn at the end of the mission while you are running to the elevator.
Whenever you are doing a mission, it should be your number one priority to collect as many Lost Asset folders as you can find.
7
Don’t Hesitate To Unlock Shelters
Easier Access For The Backup Team
Even after finding a Shelter, some players tend not to open it because they already have enough ammo and full health. Don’t be one of these players.
Aside from the ammo and the water station offered by the Shelter, if you were to die during your mission, then having unlocked Shelters allows your replacement to spawn at the Shelter nearest to your objective instead of coming down the elevator at the very start of the level.
Aside from that, you may remember my tip from above that the shelters also consist of Lost Asset folders.
8
Unlock The Kit’s Special Abilities
Absolute Destruction
One of the best tips I can give to FBC: Firebreak beginners is to prioritize progressing through the Requisition section and unlocking the ultimate abilities of all kits as soon as possible.
Aside from these abilities wreaking havoc among the Hiss army, they are also incredibly fun to use. While using the Jump Kit, I have lost count of the number of times I died by my own special ability, but the Fix and Splash Kit special abilities are generally much safer to use.
They make crowd control much easier, and if you and your friends coordinate and activate all your special abilities while fighting against an army of Hiss, then you are in for a great time.
