Two significant releases are now scheduled for June 5 this year: the
Nintendo Switch 2
and OnePlus’ upcoming tablet.
OnePlus has officially announced the launch of the OnePlus Pad 3 in the US and Canada on June 5, 2025. This tablet follows the
OnePlus Pad 2
, which was released last summer. Although OnePlus hasn’t revealed many specifics about the new tablet, it has confirmed that it will be powered by the
Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform
, making it the first Android tablet in the US to feature Qualcomm’s latest chipset.
OnePlus also revealed that users with the latest OnePlus phones can sync their devices with the OnePlus Pad 3 to share and mirror their screens. Apple device users can also benefit from the OnePlus Pad 3’s multitasking features, including remote Mac Control and the ability to easily drag and drop files.
The OnePlus Pad 3 will be available in the US and Canada in just one color option, which the company refers to as storm blue.
“Designed to bring the most power to high-end working or graphics intense gaming, the OnePlus Pad 3 will be one of the first tablets to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, the most powerful mobile system-on-chip on the market,” OnePlus said in a press release. “The OnePlus Pad 3 will also come with Open Canvas, OnePlus’ much loved multitasking software, designed specifically for tablet use and upgraded since the OnePlus Pad 2.”

The OnePlus Pad 2 is my favorite Android tablet of all time, so I’m especially excited to see what OnePlus has planned for the OnePlus Pad 3 on June 5. One improvement I’m pleased to see already is the pill-shaped camera bar on the back of the tablet. The OnePlus Pad 2 and the original OnePlus Pad both have a circular camera awkwardly positioned in the center of the tablet, which I was never particularly fond of.
…the OnePlus Pad 3 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, which will make it one of the fastest Android tablets ever in the US…
I’m also happy to see that the OnePlus Pad 3 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, which will make it one of the fastest Android tablets ever in the US, placing it in direct competition with Apple’s M3 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro.
What we still don’t officially know about the OnePlus Pad 3 is the size of the display, its storage options, or its retail price, but all will be revealed on June 5. For reference, the OnePlus Pad 2’s regular price is $550, but it’s currently on sale for $450 and features a 12.1-inch display and 256GB of storage. It’s important to keep in mind that OnePlus manufacturers many of its products in China, so there is a chance the price of its new tablet in the US could be affected by tariffs.
